Based on Philippians 2:5-11
Make your mind like that of Jesus,
Who, though in the form of God,
Did not claim His rightful status
As the trueborn Son of God.
Seeking not His own advantage,
He His glory laid aside,
Taking on the role of servant
With a veil of flesh supplied.
Coming as a lowly human
For the human eye to see,
He submitted to the Father;
Not compelled, but willingly.
Christ obeyed without a question,
Knowing well what lay ahead:
He would die by crucifixion,
Suffering in a traitor’s stead.
For this reason, God the Father
Also highly honored Him,
Giving Him a name most glorious
Over every other name,
So that at the name of Jesus
Every creature will declare:
“To the glory of the Father,
Christ is Lord and Master here!”
